Chef Kevin Adey and his wife Debbie worked for top chefs and restaurateurs including Eric Ripert and Jean-Georges Vongerichten. For five years, Kevin was the chef at Northeast Kingdom, a groundbreaking restaurant in Bushwick, where he became known for his seasonal cooking and utilization of whole animals. The couple also live in the neighborhood and had become well known in the community. As the dining scene in Bushwick took off, Kevin met a potential investor and together set off on identifying a space for their new restaurant. A former art supply warehouse fit the bill – a blank canvas with high ceilings, perfect for the open kitchen Kevin wanted. Brooklyn Cider House & Twin Star Orchards (Brand Devlopment & Press 2016 – 17)
Peter Yi launched the Brooklyn Cider House label in 2015 and is in the process of building a cidery, restaurant and bar in Bushwick, Brooklyn to open in early 2017. The ciders are available at retail throughout New York City and several towns in Upstate New York. Yi also owns Twin Star Orchards in New Paltz, New York, which offers cider tastings, apple picking, sales of local spirits and wine, wood-fired pizza and more. MST Creative PR was brought in to build buzz for the opening of the Bushwick facility through Fall Preview placements in major publications, general brand awareness for the ciders as distribution expands throughout the region, and to increase visibility among Upstate and NYC media for visits to the orchard. With the Bushwick facility facing construction delays, we secured strong preview coverage and then pivoted to stories on the ciders themselves, gift guides for Christmas, NYC Cider Week and more.
